A big Vinaka Tonga, from the bottom of our hearts!!!

We picked up this article from Fiji Today:

Tonga with a population of 219,000 has given assistance of US$60,000 (FJ$ 108,570).

Our nearest neighbors have excelled and deserve to be recognized for this offer.

This equates to 50 cents from every man woman and child.

To match this Australia would have to give $10.4 million dollars and New Zealand give $2.06 million and China $400 million.

Everyone seems to have missed the staggering size of this offer

This donation needs to be recognized.

The govt. recognizes and thanks the people of Tonga for their contribution. No doubt, the PM will be personally called the Tongan PM to convey his heartfelt thanks and best wishes for the extremely generous contribution. We realize that this is the true Pacific way of selfless giving from countries such as Tonga which reinforce our commitment and relationships with the country and its people. NZ and Australia would do well to remember that every gesture whether it is kind or unkind will be returned in kind. This govt. did not ask Tonga to make a contribution of such a magnitude but the people there obviously care a lot for our people so much so that a heavy contribution was made to help the people of Fiji.

A big Vinaka Vakalevu from the people of Fiji and those who are in dire need of such assistance.

To the RFN and SV bloggers: take note that while you go up against the people of your own country, our brothers and sisters from a foreign land recognize our commitment and have shown their support for us - isn't it time you also stopped crying and joined hands to take the nation forward?

What about the donations from the evil New Zealand and Australia (you remember, the ones who wanted so badly to invade Fiji)? What about the passive AID, the AID that comes in every week, without fanfare? Childish and trite. Reductio ad absurdum.

[But seriously, Tonga has done an amazing thing for Fiji.]

Well, well, what do you know. Bainimarama and the low IQ "Fiji Army" wanted a clean up campaign in Fiji. For 2 years there have been nothing to clean up. Now mother Nature has provided them with a lot to clean up. How about using the money donated from NZ to buy brooms and mops or simply tell NZ if you want Fiji to move forward send containers of brooms and mops so that we can start cleaning as we now have found lots of physical evidence to start cleaning. Doing the job you had committed to do. CLEAN UP CAMPAIGN TIME.
